The promises of God paints visions of our future. Abraham in offering up Isaac had a vision from God’s promise that He would be a son to bless all nations. So he had a vision of God raising him from the dead. His eye of faith gave him the ability to obey the Lord, but it was not how it worked out. The Lord worked it out to be a testimony of Jesus Christ. If we are children of faith we obey walking in the Spirit by the vision of our future from God’s promises, but when it comes out different than we saw with our eye of faith it will always turn into a testimony for Jesus our Lord. We just saw mom go on to be with Jesus at 87 years of age and our grandson also died at 18 years of age. Mom’s death lined up with my eye of faith. We prayed, and with all her life’s trails, and sickness she lived a good long life. The end was pretty much told us by her doctor a few weeks before. So our prayers and outlook came out in line with our vision of faith. On the other hand, I had a vision of faith of my grandson following the Lord and saw him learning to fish, and net with me, and grow up to have great fellowship in faith and teaching him to walk in the Spirit, but divorce, drugs, family split, and all the things he should have not had to bare brought about open rebellion, drugs, son born out of wedlock, and too much pressure to live with, so he ended the struggle. His end was not at all with God’s promises, and far from what God wanted for Him. But it turned out to be a testimony of the truth of Jesus. He said He came to give us the abundant life, But the thief comes only to kill steal, and destroy. Jesus made the warning to follow and know His voice. Do not follow the strange voice. His short life with a 5-month-old son our first great grandson ended with the work of the thief, and the testimony we are never safe from true destruction unless we follow the voice of the good shepherd Jesus Christ, for the words He speaks are Spirit and life. For to live by the natural mind is death, but to live with the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. May you know His voice is always in line with the scriptures.
